After a very good cooked breakfast at Mole End, we headed north out of Stow and soon joined the Heart of England Way through Donnington, Longborough, Bourton-on-the-Hill and Blockley to Broad Campden. The landscape was

again fairly open with a mixture of field and woodland and gentle slopes. We wore our rain gear all day, so of course it didn’t rain a single drop. We took our lunch break on a bench in Boughton. After Blockley, our way was barred by some young cattle making a lot of noise, so rather than confront them (they didn’t walk away) we scrambled up a 30 foot slope to the road, our dignity largely intact. We made our pre-arranged meeting place at the Bakers Arms early, so enjoyed a couple of pints before Dave arrived to transport us back to the flat at Shotteswell, where we had left to go to Cornwall on June 20th. That evening, we had a fantastic evening with our friends at Dave’s house, with the second phase now ended.

  1. Stow “where the wind blows heavy on the borderline.” Stow, where men are men, and sheep are careful! Luckily for the tall two the weather is helpfully warm. Very enjoyable blog.

  2. In Charleston they have those phone booth libraries-but they are mini-like 1/8th that size. I’m so enjoying seeing your pics and hearing about your adventures. Thanks for sharing!
