An earlier start this morning. Our hostess at the Cliff House B&B gave us bacon sandwiches in lieu of breakfast so we hit the trail at 8:15. Today there were 6 major descents which of course meant 6 major ascents as well. We can see them coming in the terrain ahead. The weather behaved and the sun managed to come through at times. Great walking weather. Towards the end of the day the cliffs rose higher and higher with spectacular but unsettling views down to the shore. Mid-day in Trevaunance Cove required a stop for ice cream and decision time. Follow the path up and over the headland or take a short-cut over the rocks and across the beach. That was fun!!! Later in the afternoon we shopped in Perranporth for Cornish pasties and a bottle of red for dinner. After a final ascent we arrived at Tollgate Farm campsite where we discovered another mobile pizza outfit. The pasties were relegated to tomorrow’s lunch!!! We got the tent up before the rain so all in all a great day.

  1. Looks awesome. I love the step count! Is the path hard to follow or is it generally clear where it goes?

    1. Thanks Wendy. The path has been well marked so far but given it is a national trail (for these first 8 days) that’s expected. But when we start to use local footpaths later this week a bit more attention will be required. Our GPS unit will help! Also so far we’ve only had one rain day…
